About

 Spirit of Adventure is a magazine focused on publishing quality fiction, poetry, and critique. This magazine was born out of a love of old adventure fiction such as Conan, Tarzan, and John Carter, as well as a respect for the many bygone magazines such as Scribner's Magazine, New Writing, and Русскій Вѣстникъ that published great works in the past. I also pull some inspiration from more comtemprary projects, like the underground magazines of the 80's and 90's.

 While I am certainly inspired by the works of the past, what I admire in these old projects is that they are all great works in their time. It's not something from the 1990's trying to be something from the 1890's. That's what I hope to produce here.

 I use "I" rather than "we" because Spirit of Adventure is a one-man-show. I am supported by my friends (and I am eternally grateful for their support) but this magazine is run by one guy.
